Kentucky Republican Rep. Thomas Massie introduced a bill today to end the Biden Administration’s endless cashflow for developing Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools for so-called “disinformation.”

The mere 83-word bill, H.R. 8519, lays out the House Republicans’ plan to defund the federal government’s online censorship research:

A BILL

To prohibit the obligation or expenditure of Federal funds for disinformation research grants, and for other purposes.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,

SECTION 1. PROHIBITION.

No Federal funds may be obligated or expended by any Federal department or agency for the following:

(1) Disinformation research grants.

(2) Secure and Trustworthy Cyberspace grants.

(3) Programs within the National Science Foundation’s Track F: Trust and Authenticity in Communications Systems.

The aforementioned NSF’s Track F program was identified as a threat to online free speech in a report by the House Select Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government in February 2024.

“As the distributor of multi-million-dollar grants, the National Science Foundation (NSF) is a key player in the ‘censorship industrial complex” acting “under the guise of combatting so-called misinformation,” read the report. “NSF has been funding AI-driven tools and other new technologies that can be used to censor or propagandize online speech.”

“In March 2021, NSF introduced Track F: Trust & Authenticity in CommunicationSystems, allocating $21 million to the program. For Track F, NSF solicited proposals to address the manipulation or ‘unanticipated negative effects’ of communication systems—a departure from the Convergence Accelerator program’s other, more concrete research topics.

“The euphemistic ‘trust and authenticity in communication systems,’ in fact, means combatting so-called ‘misinformation,’ i.e., censorship. In an early draft solicitation, NSF indicated that Track F projects will ‘address issues of trust and authenticity in communication systems, including predicting, preventing, detecting, correcting, and mitigating the spread of inaccurate information that harms people and society.’ As NSF’s Track F program manager, Michael Pozmantier, explained more plainly in a June 2021 email, Track F isthe NSF ‘Accelerator track focused on combatting mis/disinformation.’”

According to the Media Research Center, taxpayer-funded grants have been used to research and develop AI tools to monitor 750,000 blogs and media articles daily while mining data from social media platforms. The MRC said some of the stated reasons for such research are to lessen the responsibility of corporate tech platforms, “externalize” censorship, aid in adding needed or “true” context and action to enforce against misinformation.

High-level World Economic Forum advisor Yuval Noah Harari, a key henchman to WEF leader Klaus Schwab, says that the 2024 election could be run entirely by artificial intelligence and that in the near future, AI technologies will be writing new religions for humans to follow, presumably religions that benefit groups like the World Economic Forum and their global government allies. Harari also indicated that cult-like online theories like “Q Anon” could already be controlled by government-backed AI in a twisted test run for promoting new, computer-designed religions.

Harari, a top World Economic Forum member and a lecturer at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem, said in a recent address that artificial intelligence will be meddling in the 2024 US Presidential race, producing new “political manifestos,” “fake news stories,” and even “holy scriptures” – though, according to Harari’s plot line, the “holy scriptures” will be more like handbooks for political cults.

Harari compared the AI-guided political cults to the Q Anon conspiracy group while indicating that Q Anon itself is controlled by AI or, at the very least, by the US government and its subcontractors.

“Think for example about the next US Presidential race, in 2024, and try to imagine the impact of the new AI tools that can mass-produce political manifestos, fake news stories, and even holy scriptures for new cults,” Harari said.

“In recent years, the politically influential Q Anon cult has formed around anonymous online texts, known as ‘Q drops.’ Now, followers of this cult, which are millions now in the US and the rest of the world, collected, revered, and interpreted these Q drops as some kind of new scripture, as a sacred text,” Harari said.

“Now, to the best of our knowledge, all previous Q drops were composed by human beings and bots only helped to disseminate these texts online.”

“But,” Harari went on, “in [the] future, we might see the first cults and religions in history whose revered texts were written by a non-human intelligence.”

The poem, which has become known as “Ma’am I Am,” made a complete mockery of the transgender movement while pointing out the absurdities of it all, using artificial intelligence to give a reality check to the LGBT lobby. It was first posted to Twitter by @Huff4Congress in February and has since gone viral, with the original tweet garnering millions of views.

“I see your hair. It is a wig. Your Adam’s apple still looks big. You are a man, and that is clear. I do not see a woman here,” wrote Chat GPT at the outset of “Ma’am I Am,” before bringing human biology and transgender bathroom, or in this case spa, usage into the equation.

“I must admit, it’s rather odd. To hear you say you’re now a broad. You have no uterus, so no: You cannot bleed from down below.”

“I do not like your padded bra! You should not use the women’s spa! You tell me you had surgery; Your pronouns still are ‘him’ and ‘he.’ Your chromosomes are X and Y. That means you’ll always be a guy.”

“You gave yourself a girly name. That does not mean you’re now a dame. A surgeon chopped your eggs and ham? I still won’t call you Ma’am I am.”

As a result of its viral trip around the internet, “Ma’am I Am” has been turned into a book, published by Chet Festive and written entirely by ChatGPT’s artificial intelligence technology.

Despite the hilarious writing of “Ma’am I Am” by ChatGPT, serious concerns have been raised about the potential of the AI program, and others like it, to manipulate online content and information. In several instances, the program has been criticized for being slanted toward the left. In others, those on the left have called for it to be overhauled, saying it is not pro-trans and pro-BLM enough.

The CEO of TikTok will be testifying before Congress in March.

TikTok CEO Shou Zi Chew will be questioned about the social media platform’s data security and its connection to the Chinese government.

The company that owns TikTok is ByteDance, which is based in Beijing. Chew was ordered to testify by the House of Representatives’ Energy and Commerce committee.

On Monday, the committee released a statement announcing their intentions to look into “TikTok’s consumer privacy and data security practices, the platforms’ impact on kids, and their relationship with the Chinese Communist Party.”

“ByteDance-owned TikTok has knowingly allowed the ability for the Chinese Communist Party to access American user data. Americans deserve to know how these actions impact their privacy and data security, as well as what actions TikTok is taking to keep our kids safe from online and offline harms,” the statement added.

As National File reported in August, the popular social media platform can monitor users’ personal information when it is entered into the in-app browser:

“Users who click on links on Tiktok are led to a native in-app browser produced by Tiktok, and not default browsers like Safari or Google Chrome.

The JavaScript code in Tiktok’s in-app browser can allow the company to monitor every keystroke. This means the social media company could access every action taken on the screen, even passwords or credit card information.”

When Donald Trump was president he signed an executive order which would have implemented an executive order banning the app across the U.S. However, the ban was not carried out because ByteDance sued the government, alleging the company was denied due process to argue against claims suggesting it was a national security threat.

The U.S. House Foreign Affairs Committee will hold a vote in February which could block the app’s usage across the country.

Chew’s hearing is set to take place on March 23.

Twitter philanthropist Bill Pulte is currently suing recently fired Chief Operating Officer Brandon Jones of PulteGroup, a Fortune 500 company and the third largest homebuilder in the United States.

Dell, a leading global tech company, is reportedly planning to stop using computer chips manufactured in China by 2024.

In addition to computer chips, Nikkei Asia reported the U.S.-based computer company told its suppliers to “meaningfully lower” the volume of Chinese-produced chips they use. This warning applies to suppliers that use China-made chips even if the facilities themselves are owned by non-Chinese individuals.

Dell’s manufacturing redirection comes as the U.S. continues to face tensions with China as domestic technology manufacturing remains heavily reliant on the Chinese marketplace.

One source told Nikkei Asia that suppliers could lose business with Dell if they refuse to lower the amount of China-made chips they use. “The goal is quite aggressive. The determined shift involves not only those chips that are currently made by Chinese chipmakers but also at the facilities in China of non-Chinese suppliers. If suppliers don’t have responding measures, they could eventually lose orders from Dell.”

It is also reported HP, another computer manufacturing giant, is looking into making similar moves.

One executive at a chip supplier that works with both Dell and HP called Dell’s recent move “kind of radical.”

“Previously, we knew Dell kind of had plans to diversify from China, but this time it is kind of radical. They don’t even want their chips to be made in China, citing concerns over the US government’s policy… It’s not just an evaluation, it’s not crying wolf. It’s a real and ongoing plan, and this trend looks irreversible,” Breitbart reported.

The Huawei equipment would be able to capture DoD communications, including conversations initiated by the US Strategic Command, the government group that overlooks US nuclear weapons.

“This gets into some of the most sensitive things we do…It would impact our ability for essentially command and control with the nuclear triad,” a former FBI official told CNN of the discovery on Monday.

A Republican U.S. Senator has introduced draft legislation that seeks to protect minors from the harms associated with pornography.

Senator Mike Lee (R-UT) introduced the Shielding Children’s Retinas from Egregious Exposure on the Net (SCREEN) Act which, if passed, would force the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) to order pornography websites to adopt age verification technology to ensure minors are not viewing explicit sexual content.

Senator Lee’s draft of the SCREEN bill noted how “the Supreme Court of the United States has struck down the previous efforts of Congress to shield children from pornographic content, finding that such legislation constituted a ‘compelling government interest’ but that it was not the least restrictive means to achieve such interest.”

Lee’s bill explained how internet filters do not efficiently block pornography from being viewed by minor. The SCREEN act, referencing a Kaiser Family Foundation report, explained how “filters do not work on 1 in 10 pornography sites accessed intentionally and 1 in 3 pornography sites that are accessed unintentionally.”

“Further, it has been proven 8 that children are able to bypass ‘blocking and filtering’ software by employing strategic searches or 10 measures to bypass the software completely,” Lee added.

“We require age verification at brick-and-mortar shops. Why shouldn’t we require it online?” the Utah senator questioned.

Lee’s bill would order the FCC to establish a “‘more likely than not’ verification standard for pornographic websites for the purposes of determining whether the user of a pornographic website is a child or not.”

This age-verification technology would be overseen through an audit process and websites with ineffective age verification could face law enforcement.

Sen. Lee explained his reasoning for introducing the SCREEN Act, citing the negative effects of pornography usage: “Every day, we’re learning more about the negative psychological effects pornography has on minors. Given the alarming rate of teenage exposure to pornography, I believe the government must act quickly to enact protections that have a real chance of surviving First Amendment scrutiny. We require age verification at brick-and-mortar shops. Why shouldn’t we require it online?”

President Donald Trump has released his first policy platform for 2024, focusing on renewed free speech protections for Americans against the onslaught of Big Tech censorship.

“If we don’t have free speech, then we just don’t have a free country,” the President said in a statement yesterday. “That’s why today, I’m announcing my plan to shatter the left wing censorship regime and to reclaim the right to free speech for all Americans.”

Coming on the heels of the Twitter Files, the shocking series of revelations that finally confirmed that Big Tech companies collude with Democrats to push a leftist narrative, President Trump has outlined a detailed series of policy proposals to curtail censorship of lawful speech by both public and private institutions.

Some of the proposals included the firing of all federal employees who have engaged in censorship, banning federal agencies from doing so in the future and enacting criminal penalties for government employees who continue to do so, a revision of Section 230 to curtail the power of Big Tech, and passing a Digital Bill of Rights. Altogether, the proposals would deal a major blow to those who continue to push for big tech censorship. You can read the full list of proposals down below.

This is going to be the first of several releases by the Trump campaign of what is likely going to be a comprehensive policy platform should he get reelected.

Rather than mere bluster regarding this issue, this list of proposals, if implemented, would be the strongest protections against free speech infractions and continuous Big Tech abuses seen thus far. Passing these reforms would ensure everyone can have free speech online– the new ‘digital public square.’

“The fight for free speech is a matter of victory or death for America and for the survival of Western Civilization itself” the President closed. “When I am President, this whole rotten system of censorship and information control will be ripped out of the system at large.”

“Hey stop defaming me!” Twitter owner Elon Musk tweeted to the ADL’s CEO, Jonathan Greenblatt after he claimed that Musk’s reinstatement of President Trump’s Twitter account would lead to “hate, harassment and misinformation,” among other buzzwords.

President Trump’s reinstatement to the Twitter platform came after Musk democratized the process, fielding a public poll of Twitter users and asking for their opinions on reinstating the account. The result was a victorious “yes” vote and the apparent triggering of the ADL.

According to Greenblatt, for Elon Musk “to allow Donald Trump back on Twitter, ostensibly after a brief poll, shows he is not remotely serious about safeguarding the platform.”

Notably, Musk’s response to Greenblatt thoroughly “ratio’d” the ADL’s CEO, with Musk’s tweet receiving over 348,000 “likes,” compared to a mere 131,100 “likes” for Greenblatt’s initial tweet.

The tweet from Greenblatt was part of a larger thread in which the ADL’s CEO claimed that by disobeying his orders, Elon Musk made a “dangerous” decision, representing a “threat to American democracy.”

“We need to ask,” Greenblatt tweeted, before seeming to issue a veiled threat, “is it time for Twitter to go?”

The exchange of tweets between Musk and Greenblatt after the reinstatement of President Trump is just the latest chapter in the larger story of the ADL’s fight to silence Americans and control the flow of information and ideas online.

Weeks ago, the Anti-Defamation League, which is often criticized for engaging in the massive “defamation” of American patriots and conservatives, ordered advertisers to bail on Twitter over the limited expansion of free speech on the platform, even calling for the censorship of the Bible in the process, labeling the Holy text an “antisemitic conspiracy theory.”

Much like the ADL, a multitude of other left-wing pressure groups and corporations have jumped in against Twitter, with the NAACP announcing a “pause” in Twitter usage over their apparent free speech concerns.

CBS News made a similar announcement, then quit their boycott of Twitter after less than 2 days. 

A Canadian bank, Vancity, has launched a new credit card that tracks the “carbon footprint” of the account holder. As part of its commitment to “climate action,” the bank has partnered with a company that measures the “carbon footprint” of every transaction, including rent payments. Users can then compare their monthly carbon footprint to the national average.

Vancity announced that they would be partnering with ecolytiq to become “the first financial institution in Canada to provide a Carbon Counter on your Visa credit card,” in an October 19 press release.

Starting in 2023, users will be able to track the estimated carbon emissions of their credit card purchases. Members will be able to see which credit card purposes have the highest “carbon costs” and will be able to compare their estimated emissions with the national average.

Users will also be provided with advice on how to reduce or better manage their individual carbon footprint.

“We know many Vancity members are looking for ways to reduce the impact they have on the environment, particularly when it comes to the emissions that cause climate change,” said Jonathan Fowlie, Vancity’s Chief External Relations Officer who oversees the credit union’s impact and climate efforts.

“As a member-owned financial cooperative, we believe it is our job to do everything we can to help, especially when it comes to the decisions people make with their money. This tool will equip Vancity Visa credit cardholders with valuable information on their purchases and enable them to connect their daily spending decisions to the change they want to see in the world.”

In order to implement the program, Vancity has partnered with ecolytiq, a company billed as “one of Europe’s leading climate engagement technology companies.” Together, the two entities will create the first “Visa Carbon Counter” in Canada.

“Discouraged by the lack of global efforts to keep pace with the ever-growing urgency of climate change, ecolytiq cofounders Ulrich Pietsch and David Lais decided to encourage action by giving the power to the people through rethinking the role retail banking has to play in the fight against climate change,” reads ecolytiq’s company description.

The company allows banks, fintech companies and financial service providers to show their customers the individual “impact” their purchases are having on the environment in real time. The ecolytiq software calculates personal environmental impacts, such as CO2 values, on the basis of payment transactions.

“We are breaking new ground here,” said Ulrich Pietsch, ecolytiq Co-Founder and Managing Director. “We developed a White Label solution to offer financial institutions all over the world an agile and effective way to offer their customers tools to forge a better tomorrow. With the launch of Carbon Counter, Vancity is solidifying its role as a leading sustainability innovator both in Canada and in the global banking world.”

In addition to helping users get an estimate of their carbon footprint, the program will provide insights into lower emission options. The “Carbon Counter” will offer using spending tips and other advice on how to best lower their emissions and move towards more “sustainable” options.
